bragging rights.
just wanted to give a little sample of what's commonly called a 'brag book.' it's a 7x7 inch book that can contain up to 40 pictures from your session, & can be added to any session for $75 dollars. they are great to carry around, keep at your desk, on your coffee table, etc. overall, it's just a really easy way to share your photos with family and friends. i also have other larger and more elaborate albums available - feel free to contact me for details & pricing. here's an idea of what the brag books look like...
the images chosen for the front and back are wrapped onto the cover. and anything can be printed on the cover & spine.
the pages are nice and thick, and the photos are printed right onto them.
let me know if you'd like to add this to any session!

heather + steve: engagement session.
ohhhhh my gosh. to say i'm excited to shoot this couple's wedding in september would be an understatement. i can NOT wait. when i came back from my first meeting with them a few months ago, i was so excited. i walked back in my door and jesse said, "so how'd it go?" and i was like "this is why i love what i do. i just loved them. i'm so happy!" i couldn't stop smiling all night. there was just something about them that gave me that sparkly happy warm fuzzy feeling. like, THESE are the kind of people i could photograph all day and night and never get tired of it. i felt the same way at the end of this session, probably even more so. you can really feel their love, all the time. it's just perfect, they are so wonderfully suited for each other and i just adore them both to pieces. also, they didn't need ANY direction, they just did what they do and looked this good doing it.
this is what happiness looks like.
you guys are so incredibly awesome. i can't wait for your wedding! you were made for each other.

lovely joanna: bridal session.
you may remember the engagement session that i shot while i was in florida a few weeks ago. earlier that day, joanna and i met up at the place she's getting married in november for a bridal session. it was the first time i'd seen her in a couple years and when i showed up she was downstairs finishing getting ready. i seriously wanted to cry when i saw her. she is so breathtaking and i just think she makes the most lovely bride. don't you?
(note: i can only show photos of her face for now so i don't spoil the dress for kyle) but i'll post more of this session after their wedding...
jo, i can't wait to see you in november for the real thing. it is going to be perfect. i just know it.
a celebration of love & family.
i have a beautiful friend named fawn. except i call her corie, but that's beside the point. she always leaves me sweet thoughtful notes about my photos and about life and has just always been someone i admire. we've never known one another all too well but during the time i have spent with her, i have always adored her. she wrote to me the other day asking for something special. she wanted to know if i would come to her family home, where she and her sister and brother grew up, and photograph her parents. now that she's out of college & all over the place (alaska now!) she wanted to capture the people who started their beautiful family and the house that they all call home. i had never met her parents before but i truly enjoyed being around them. they are such gentle spirits, and they are so in love. i absolutely LOVE seeing people who have been together for a long time still hold hands and kiss and look each other with so much love and respect. and i love the way they just watched and listened to their kids with these admiring eyes. you can tell they are deeply involved in one another's lives and they all feel comfortable to share and laugh and never feel judged. love love love it. smiles courtesy of their beautiful daughters telling funny stories the whole time...
PS being at their home feels like a whimsical fairytale.
there are sooo many cute dogs everywhere. i loved how this one is smiling :)
she has the most beautiful calming energy.
there is something about this photo that i love. i feel like if she was my mom i'd put it in a frame next to my bed and every time i was having a hard time, it would just make me feel better.
they created these stepping stones with mosaic tiles and they are lining the paths everywhere around their home. they are SO beautiful. their grandpa used to make them and corie & her mom made a lot together too. i think that's such a cool idea.
it was really great being around you guys. you are the true meaning of family.
