becca's beautiful belly.

one rainy day last week becca and i decided to meet up for an impromptu maternity shoot. the rain cleared and the sun softly poured through the cloud cover. the light was perfection. we just roamed around (got knee deep in water a couple of times) but had fun exploring and laughing and taking pictures. becca and luke are going to welcome a baby girl, peyton, into the world in just a couple of weeks and i couldn't be more excited for them. i love her sweet excitement and laid back personality and awesome sense of humor. good ingredients for the making of an amazing mom. here are a quick handful of my favs.

a beautiful pregnant belly.

i met rebekah and her husband at silver lake park in haymarket which, in case you were wondering, i have not gotten sick of shooting there. it's amazing. they were a lot of fun and obviously so in love. there is a beautiful reverent and excited energy around two people that love each other, who are getting close to bringing their baby into the world. i remember that feeling so well, and photographing couples like this make it fresh in my mind again and again... i love that. i can tell they will be great parents - they have this fun lighthearted way of being and they seem so comfortable together. that's the best. i hope to meet the baby when it arrives. PS they aren't finding out the sex until the baby comes... i vote GIRL. what do you think?

christy, jason, & addy: maternity/family session.

christy is my beautiful sister in law. she lives in one of my favorite places that's like a second home to me. i was really excited when she decided to bring me down to take pictures of her beautiful belly and to capture this special time in her life. i loved spending time with her and jason and his daughter addison, who melted my heart immediately. christy and jason recently got engaged, and their baby is due NINE weeks :) doesn't she look amazing? i can't wait to meet him...

ginger & brian: maternity session.

i used to work with ginger at an awesome little spa in herndon. i always loved spending time with her, she's so sweet and hilarious. when she contacted me about photographing her TWIN belly and the babies' first year i was beyond thrilled. we met up for a few minutes to capture some of this part of her pregnancy, & we might do another session when she has the real twin belly :) i can't wait to meet the babies. i had a lot of fun with you guys!

jesslyn & jerald: maternity session.

Talk about glowing... Jesslyn is one of the most beautiful pregnant women I've ever seen. She has stuck out in mind since the first time I met her. When a friend of mine told me that she wanted pictures of her beautiful pregnant belly, I said "Oh yeah! The really sweet happy one!" She's one of those people that lights up a room, her laugh is contagious, and it was nice to see she has met someone equally as charming, sweet, and comfortable for her. Their love was obvious, their house felt like a home, and you can tell they are one another's soft place to fall. I really enjoyed the time we spent walking around your beautiful neighborhood, you guys are so much fun. Here are a few images that I love...
