new!

easter symbolizes rebirth to me in many different ways. it's a reminder that every day is new. that every moment is new. and the energy that we approach those days and moments with is our choice. we have the power to choose to be happy. to be productive. to love. to be patient. to celebrate. even if we slip for a moment, we have the choice to come back. i love to take notice of all these new, perfect moments.

like when zoe holds on to us in an unfamiliar place. and to know she is experiencing that feeling of complete security.

seeing pure joy on her face and hearing her sweet laughter.

feeling her face against mine and knowing she's content and happy.

watching her be admired and adored.

to learn something new.

and see something new.

to be inquisitive.

and determined!

to fall asleep after a long day holding onto your dad's t-shirt.

to notice beauty in places you have to look UP to see.

to be innocent.

to love living things.

to look into the eyes of someone you love.

to take an afternoon nap with your grandma in the hammock in the spring breeze.

for new life.

and curiosity.

simplicity.

to see everything through these eyes: with wonder, excitement, anticipation, a safe amount of reluctance, and with pure love.

that's what easter reminded me to do.
